Carlos Sainz joins the team as a highly experienced and proven race winner, ready to lead the team's resurgence and bring a wealth of technical feedback and racecraft.
Carlos began his career in karting, quickly showing exceptional promise. In 2008, he won the Asia-Pacific KF3 title, as well as finishing runner-up in the Spanish Championship.
He made his single-seater debut in Formula BMW Europe in 2010. By 2014, he dominated the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, securing the championship and earning his ticket to Formula 1.
Entering F1 with Toro Rosso in 2015, Carlos immediately impressed with his consistency and speed. Moves to Renault and McLaren followed, where he secured his first podium finishes and established himself as one of the grid's most reliable points scorers.
A successful stint at Ferrari saw Carlos claim his maiden pole position and victory at the 2022 British Grand Prix. Known for his supreme intelligence in the cockpit and excellent tire management, Carlos brings championship-winning experience to the team.
